Donkey Basketball provided one of those breaks. The event was again sponsored by the senior class, who emerged victorious in a game against the junior class.

Despite protests from teachers who felt that enough class time had been lost because of the weather, the Winter Festival was again celebrated. A special SOC-sponsored event was the appearance of WNAP disc jockey Buster Bodine. Tug-of-war, the Young Life jail, and French Club’s "Almost Anything Goes" added to the excitement.
