Jingle Bell Time – Page 16
Christmas spirit came to Northside High School a little later than usual because of Mother Nature. Heavy snows during the week of December 5th cased the annual Community Christmas Sing to be cancelled, including the Music Department’s presentation of the Singing Christmas Tree. Students put many hours of work into the tree which was to have been a part of the program for the first time since 1970. The choirs’ talents did not go unappreciated, however, as they performed for groups throughout the community. The combined choirs presented a special convocation of Christmas music to the entire school.
Snow also caused a week’s delay in decorating the stairways. Stained glass windows created by the art department added a special touch to the front hallway.
The day school was dismissed for vacation found the seniors presenting their own Christmas music to underclassmen in the cafeteria.
As vacation began, students realized that not even bad weather or a loss to city rival Muncie Central could dampen a Titan’s Christmas spirit.
