The tradition-filled ceremony was once again held at Emens Auditorium where 281 seniors filed nervously down the aisles to the strains of "Pomp and Circumstance." Following an invocation given by Frank Voss, the speakers were introduced by Karen Rittmeyer. Speeches were given by Scott Townsend, Phyllis Conn, Kim Sparenberg, and Tom Moran. Each encourged his classmates to prepare for the future but also to enjoy the present.

After the grantinf of diplomas by Muncie school board members, the class joined in moving their tassels from right to left and then set off tiny noise-poppers filled with streamers. Kendra Rothhaar delivered the benediction and Northside High School’s newest graduates marched proudly through the recessional and into the future.
