It wasn’t hard to find excitement at Northside High School. We found it in a very successful first Homecoming, the Winter Festival, and even in the school’s first fire.
Nearly every weekend offered a football or basketball game to be enjoyed and that presented the pleasant problem of where to go after the game.
A blustery cold winter gave us a reprieve from classes, as school was dismissed early or cancelled because of heavy snows. Leaving school was an adventure in itself on some icy days.
Cases of "senioritis" were diagnosed during the second semester, as seniors looked forward to the first Senior Ball, the long-awaited final day of school, and graduation.
As the school year came to a close, we realized that excitement could be found in almost everything we did.
