Initiating Northside to the sports sphere, the varsity gridmen proved to everyone that North is destined for athletic greatness by notching up an undefeated season. Operating with borrowed uniforms and no team name, the "go for guts gang" did not let that detour them from victory after victory. Area newspapers constantly referred to "unnamed North" and its potential. Special honors went to Luther Bradley, Most Valuable Player; Kevin Huston, Honarary Captain; Marc Kilgore, Outstanding Lineman; Steve Hill, Outstanding Back; and Wes Lyon, Outstanding Defensiveman.
