| Starting off the wrestling program at NHS with a 55 to 5 massacre of Cowan, the Titan grapplers of Coach Fred Ginther won five more matches while losing a like number during the season. They also finished in the top five in two invitational tournaments. Although only a freshman and wrestling against varsity competition, Steve Ohrvall won the sectional crown in his division. Bill Middleton racked up team points. In the fall department, Marc Kilgore had the fastest fall decking his opponent and Steve Kehoe had the most falls. Operating with the philosophy that there is no substitute for victory, the freshmen wrestling team pinned everything in sight in winning 14 and losing none. This record included two first place championships at the Delta Invitational and the Muncie City Tournament. Coach Charles Childers, who is leaving coaching, could hardly improve a perfect season. |
